Biography

Dealing with Difficult People, Managing People, Effective Leadership, Life Balance, Presentation Skills Trainer

Colleen Kettenhofen was born on March 30 in the Pacific Northwest. Her “great great uncle” discovered (mapped) Crater Lake, Oregon. Like her ancestors before her, Colleen has a passion for nature and the great outdoors. Colleen grew up in southern California and graduated from Southern Methodist University.

During her sales years in California, Colleen was honored as the “#1 sales producer in the history of the company breaking all previous records in the U.S. and Canada” out of approximately 180 sales representatives for a major publishing company. At the time, she was living her dream life in Redondo Beach, staying active with snow skiing, hiking, and watching the dolphins.

But on May 2, 1991, shortly after her 31st birthday, Colleen was diagnosed with colon cancer. That was her “wake-up call” to discovering her passion and true calling. Colleen had always enjoyed public speaking as a manager and advertising executive. By 1995, she made the decision to pursue her passion…speaking, training, and inspiring others full time. Colleen Kettenhofen has been cancer free and going strong for over 17 years.

Colleen believes life’s short and, “It’s not what happens to you, it’s what you do with it.” She is a cancer survivor speaker as well as a speaker on managing people, effective leadership, dealing with difficult people, and presentation skills trainer. Colleen enjoys hiking, cruises, and day trips to Sedona. She lives with her “Director of Goodwill,” who is her wonderful dog, Joy, at 2000 feet elevation in the foothills of north Phoenix, Arizona.
